Friends, it has been a while.

To be fair, one of us was busy getting married, and the other has been busy doing a Masters. (Another one, god knows why.)

So, we are about to attempt to get our brains around blogging again. Hopefully we can come up with some good stuff!

2013 Golden Globes

I was, I admit, a little excited when I learned that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were going to host the 2013 Golden Globes. I've never sat down and watched a televised awards show in my life because I just don't care. But here might be the one and only time I would put myself through the endless ad breaks and bad acceptance speeches because it stood a real chance of being entertaining.

So of course it was only shown on Foxtel in Australia. Too bad so sad.

Here is the next best thing for anyone else who was interested: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's opening monologue.

A zombie love story

I am not good with zombies. I'm not good with any horror genre, I can't stand the tension and I am bad with gore. So yesterday I was stunned to discover - a zombie movie I actually want to see!

It's a zombie rom-com. Yes. A zombie rom-com, complete with guns and eating people. Coming to cinemas near you in a few months' time.

Symphonic flash mobs

I think they're amongst the most impressive of flash mobs. Do you have any idea how hard it is to lug around a harp or a double bass? Let alone timpani. Yet here the performers appear out of no where with their heavy instruments, enchant their audience and disappear into the crowd.

This one is my personal favourite: the Copenhagen Philharmonic perform as a flash mob in Copenhagen Central Station.

Curious meerkats

I didn't get into any of the Meerkat Manor or similar television shows that were all the rage a few years ago, but I do love this clip from BBC Planet Earth. It's a sort of behind the scenes look at the meerkats interacting with the cameramen as they become comfortable with their continued presence.

They try and stay as out-of-the-picture as possible so as not to interfere with the meerkats' natural behaviour but I think they're just too curious.

On May 25, it was International Towel Day. A day to honour Douglas Adams, author or The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and other pieces of marvellousness.
